Photograph mould in your rented home. Every image is timestamped and pinned to your postcode. Together, we build a picture of where damp housing is concentrated — and who is being failed.
Just your address and postcode. Nothing else.

Your report appears on the city map. See the pattern emerge.

Damp and mould in rented housing is not a personal failing — it is an infrastructure problem. Instamould lets tenants across the UK photograph and timestamp mould growth in their homes.
Each photograph is geolocated to a postcode and plotted on a shared map. Over time, this builds an evidence base: where is mould concentrated? Which landlords, which housing stocks, which neighbourhoods are affected?
The timestamped record also serves tenants directly. Regular photographs document whether conditions are deteriorating — evidence that can support complaints, disrepair claims, and requests for inspection.
This is a prototype. Built to explore what a collective, citizen-led tool for documenting housing conditions might look like.
